Mexicali Girl!!

In case you wonder, Yup! I was born in Mexico. Well technically Mexicali. I was living there until the age of 7. My parents one day decided that they wanted a better life style for myself and my brother and sister. So we moved to a little town in California. I still remember the first time I walked in the apartment, I thought about how BIG it was not realizing that a 2 bedroom 1 bath apartment for 5 people was not ok. My parents had their room, my sister and I shared the other room and my poor brother slept in the living room. I think he might have been scared the first couple of weeks because I remember him sleeping on the floor in our room. My parents later on got bunk beds and an extra two mattress for our room, so we had a total of 3 beds. At first we didn't have a TV so we listened to this broke down radio that was also a hand me down. Then years later we got a TV that you could only change the channel with a set of pliers. So weird to think of what we had and what we have now. My son has a Nintendo Game Cube, DVD player, and TV in his room. In the living room he has an XBox, DVD, VCR, and TV. My parents have their own TV and DVD player and So does my brother. My sister got a flat screen TV which can be converted into a computer, and of course she too has a DVD player. As I think about all of the obstacles that my family has endured and gone through I think now of how lucky and blessed we are to have the things that we have. Not just the materialistic things but each other's love and support. When I got my house I was so happy and overwhelmed with the support that my parents, brother, and sister gave me. It meant a lot to me. Through the years, the drama, happy times and sad times we've all become much closer, closer than ever I think. My family is comfortable around one another and we all love that. Well I guess that's all and sorry for jumping off the subject but the main point here is that my family is the most important thing to me, even if I show it poorly. :)
